Panels

+ Knock-Down

InsulaForm is an ICF product of the “knock-down” variety, meaning the panels, ties, and straps come individually packaged and are assembled on-site. Panels are 12 inches tall, 48 inches long and 2.5 inches thick and are delivered in plastic bags (20 panels per bag for 40 s.f. of wall area). Each bag weighs less than 23 pounds, so a single worker can easily carry two of them. All this allows for greater flexibility, more compact transport and storage, and less waste.

+ Zero Embedded Plastic

InsulaForm is the only product on the market with absolutely zero plastic embedded within the EPS panels. However, it still provides continuous vertical attachment points every 8 inches O.C. after inserting the plastic ties. This makes the panels easy to cut, lightweight, and recyclable! They are delivered in bags that can be stored outdoors and can be recycled or used for trash once empty. To make things even simpler, InsulaForm panels are reversible and have small inspection slots in the location of every plastic tie. During assembly, walls can be visually inspected from the outside to double check their integrity.

+ Extra R-Value

R-value is a measure of temperature transfer resistance. InsulaForm makes it incredibly easy to increase the insulating value of your structure, and therefore energy efficiency, without the hassle of ordering different parts. Use additional layers of the same standard panels and different widths of standard ties to achieve R-values ranging from R-22 to R-55 and above.

ties

+ Functional

The primary function of ties is to secure two panels together, forming an ICF block, to hold reinforcing bar in place, and to provide attachment points for interior and exterior finishes. InsulaForm ties are made with heavy duty, high impact polystyrene (HIPS), a tough plastic that is strong enough for hanging kitchen cabinets. Attachment points run vertical continuously every 8 inches O.C.

+ Full-Panel Height

InsulaForm ties run nearly the full height of each panel, leaving just a small gap to facilitate electrical wiring installation. This also makes exterior and interior fastening of finishing materials (including horizontal siding) quick and effective. Each tie is lightly notched across the center so they can easily be split in half as needed using just your hands.

+ Rebar Fingers

Aside from joining panels together and providing heavy duty attachment for finishes, ties also serve the purpose of holding rebar in place. The fingers on InsulaForm tie webs are perfectly spaced to easily guide and secure rebar. A second important feature is to hold additional layers of our standard panels in place for extra R-value projects.

Straps

+ Versatile

The InsulaForm strap is the third versatile component that pulls the system together. They pass through slots in each tie and snap onto the buttons of the EPS panels. They serve to reinforce corners, T-walls, pilasters, etc.

+ Corner Assembly

Corners in ICF projects are often the greatest concern for builders. InsulaForm does not require special corner blocks or additional reinforcements to prevent blow-outs. The simple strap helps you navigate these challenges with relative ease. Using just standard panels, ties, and straps you can assemble corners of any angle.

+ Joints & Pilasters

InsulaForm straps are also utilized for other complex features. Assembling pilasters, T-walls, and cross-walls has never been this easy. You can maintain all dimensions as per plan, with no bump-ups or offsets. Thanks to InsulaForm straps, mid-wall seams are eliminated altogether. That means the entire length of walls is continuoisly interlocked and much stronger.

Insulating Values

+ Basic Assembly

The most popular InsulaForm block is assembled by utilizing 2 standard EPS panels and 6 plastic ties. The R-value of this assembly is R-22 (plus the variable heat mass of the concrete core).

+ Increasing R-Values

InsulaForm has been designed to meet the most demanding requirements of energy efficiency in the simplest way possible. With this 3-component ICF system, you will be able to build walls of R-22, R-33, R-44, R-55, and higher. Higher insulating values are achieved by simply inserting additional layers of standard panels (R-11 each) to either side (typically the exterior).

+ Unmatched Performance

The strength of reinforced, cast-in-place concrete and the insulating value of air-leak free walls greatly outperforms traditional building methods.
